Traumas, unplanned events, hemorrhages, pain, incontinence, hospital stays, learning how to walk again, exhaustion. It all matters. We mustn’t rush our discomfort through dismissal, for our birth story matters in its entirety—each moment, each decision, each feeling of pressure building up through our chest as organs are moved over to make room for a little head to poke out.
